Research Activities :
At IMEP we are studying thin films made by sol-gel for
applications in the field of integrated optics. We had done
a lot of work on the nonlinear characterisation of
semiconductor-doped thin glass films. Actually we are
focusing on rare-earth doped materials for active devices.
We are investigating the potential of nano-crystallised
films and the increase of active properties by using an
organic nano-cage.

Molecular
chemistry and Solid Organization Lab
Affiliation :
University of Montpellier,
CNRS
Research Activities : Over
the last few years, the work of the Laboratory has concerned
the development of synthetic routes to ceramics (silicon
carbides, oxycarbides, carbonitrides and oxynitrides, metal
oxides, etc.) which involve the polymerisation of
organometallic molecular precursors, followed by
crosslinking and pyrolysis of the polymers obtained. This
research has given rise to several innovative discoveries,
concerning new organosilicon precursors as well as new
crosslinking routes (catalytic hydrosilylation and
dehydrocoupling, non-hydrolytic sol-gel process, etc...). The
lab is constituted by 4 research groups each of them has
several research topics 1) Nanostructured
organic-inorganic hybrid materials based on silica. 2) Non-hydrolytic
sol-gel process and Organic-inorganic
hybrids containing organophosphorus groups. 3)
Organic-inorganic
lamellar hybrid materials and Magnetic molecular materials and
4) Surface chemistry. The following extended page give a flavor of the
