Refractive index modularity (1)

By tailoring the organic spacer between the inorganic species both refractive index and young modulus can be varied in a wide range from 1.52 to 1.6  and 0 to 1400 MPa respectively. This is illustrated below by the type of precursor (A or B) selected for the hybrid synthesis

1.56 - 1.60   1.52

0 -20 MPa 1400 MPa
