Objective
  • synthesis of thin, glasslike layers for staining surfaces by a wet coating process with intense colors, also to be integrated into AR-coatings

Method

  • wet coating of the glass surface with nanocomposite layers fabricated by sol-gel process (spraying, dip-coating, spin-coating, printing) with following densification of the layer by T (400-650 °C)

Results

  • transparent, scratch resistant, glass like layers showing the colors red, blue, yellow, amber, brown, grey and green
  • coating thickness: 150 nm - 2 µm

Applications
  • eye glass lenses, optical lenses
  • architectural glazing and automotive glazing

Benefits

  • intensively colored coatings with thicknesses of 150 nm - 2 µm
  • UV-, temperature-stable and weatherproof
  • adaptation of the refractive index on the requirements of the substrate
