Objective
  • Production of holographic elements for Integrated optics (volume phase grating, amplitude grating, Fresnel lens, storage media, in- and out-coupling gratings)

Method

  • Fabrication by lithography and two wave mixing techniques
  • Volume phase gratings by diffusion of nanoparticles (upconcentration) and subsequent immobilisation
  • Photolithography techniques and subsequent developement as alternative

Results
  • Induction of refractive index variation of 1.5× 10-2 through the variation of the concentration of inorganic nanoparticles during the holographic storage process
  • Film thickness 500 nm to 20 µm
  • Information storage process by optical density variation
  • Production of relief sinusoidal structure with diffraction efficiency of 32 % and signal/noise ratio of 500

Applications

  • In- and out-coupling laser beam
  • Lenses
  • Data storage
  • Image storage
