Objective
  • hardcoatings for temperature sensitive components, applicable with common wet coating technologies; curing at room temperature

Method

  • use of „Two Component"-curing mechanisms for highly reactive inorganic-organic nanocomposite materials prepared by the sol-gel process
  • application by spraying, dipping, spinning, silk-screen print and other common techniques

Results

  • high optical transparency
  • high scratch and abrasion resistance
  • good adhesion on glass and plastics after suitable pretreatment

  • curing at ambient temperature within minutes
  • reach of the final hardness in the course of a few hours

Applications

  • transparent scratch resistant coatings for temperature sensitive components
  • optics, household, automotive, furniture, architecture

Advantages

  • no costly technology for curing necessary
  • cost and time saving
  • coating of temperature sensitive plastics possible
  • functionalization of the coatings possible (e. g. „easy-to-clean")
