The oxo-organic clusters of transition elements are polynuclear complexes
with an oxo ligand and eventually an organic ligand such as acetyl acetone,
acetyl acetonate etc....)
In the case of Titanium, la nuclearity of the clusters ranges from 4 to 18. They
are differentiated by the nature and the coordination sphere of the central
metallic ion, the nature of the bonding of the oxo-bridges, the alcoxy groups
(terminal or bridging) and the ligands.
Their stability against chemical attack from nucleophilic species is higher when
the coordination sphere of the central ion and the condensation degree are high.
Stability can further be increased by using bidentate organic complexes.
