I am to deposit TiO2 on alumina by hydrothemal method. Reading through literature, most have successfully deposited TiO2 by hydrothermal method using ammonium hexafluorotitanate. My problem is that I don't have this reagent around, what I have is TiO2 powder. A have seen nanowires grown starting with TiO2 powders. Is there any alternate route to hydrothermal method starting from TiO2 powder? Or should I try to make (NH4)TiF6 from TiO2 powder?
